Vote FAQ

  • 2020-21 School Budget Vote and Board of Education Election will take place via absentee ballot ending Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 5 PM.  All registered voters in the District will receive an absentee ballot.   All absentee ballots must be received by 5 PM on June 9, 2020 at the Floral Park-Bellerose School District Administration Office, 1 Poppy Place, Floral Park, NY 11001.

    In order to vote in the upcoming school budget vote and board election, voters must be registered with the Nassau County Board of Elections for the Floral Park-Bellerose School District

    Due to the resulting ordered closure of schools, personal registration with the District will not take place for the June 9, 2020 election. In lieu of such registration, individuals can register through New York State Department of Motor Vehicle’s voter registration website (https://dmv.ny.gov/moreinfo/electronic-voter-registration-application), and be eligible receive an absentee ballot for the adjourned June 9, 2020 vote, provided that the individual registers before May 26, 2020.

    If an individual has voted at any annual or special district meeting or election or any local, state or national election within the last four calendar years, or has registered to vote with the District's Board of Registration, or is permanently registered with the Nassau County Board of Elections, that individual will automatically receive an absentee ballot with a postage paid return envelope.

    Any individuals who are unsure whether they are qualified voters and/or will receive an absentee ballot should contact the District Clerk by email at 1 Poppy Place, Floral Park, NY 11001 or email at maltobelli@fpbsd.org or by telephone 516-434-2736 with questions to confirm their status.

    In order to vote in the upcoming school budget vote and board election, voters must be registered with the Nassau County Board of Elections for the Floral Park-Bellerose School District.  If you are registered, but have not voted in a general or school election since 2016, you must re-register.  If you are registered but have either moved into the district or moved from one address to another within the district, you must re-register.

    To find out if you are registered, contact the District Clerk, Marybeth Altobelli, at 434-2726 or maltobelli@fpbsd.org.  During the current mandated school district closure, personal voter registration my not take place in school districts.  Registration may, however, continue through the County Board of Elections by mail or online.   To be able to register, you must be:  18 years of age or older, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the Floral Park-Bellerose School District for at least 30 days prior to the date of the vote.
